We enjoy spotting in in the Spring when it appeared they were tending young ones and were looking forward to being able to see it after the leaves fell. We had such a great, relaxing time. The cabin fit our needs perfectly - right size, clean, beautiful rock shelves right on the water to read and relax in. There is a perfect sized rock shelf that fits two people easily. The water was calm, the sun was warm, but not too hot, the weather was beautiful. We were close to Grand Marais and to the Java Moose and Outfitters, which are our favorites. Thank you! If you want to get away from the crowd, head to the same parking lot on Onion River Road, but go west on the Superior Hiking Trail instead of east to Oberg. The trail climbs up the flank of LeVeaux Peak and has a nice set of loops over the top and around the back, with great views both inland and toward the lake.
