Lake Superiors Wonderous Ways December 22, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — cascadevacationrentals @ 4:33 pm

Is is possible to still get shocked over the beauty of Lake Superior – the lake I see almost every day?  Steam was coming off the lake this morning many feet into the air, ice has started to form over the rocks after many large waves this weekend, and the sun was making the water glisten.  What a great way to start your day by seeing such wonderful sights!

A Good Start… December 17, 2008

The North Shore got a good start to the snow season this weekend.  It was amazing Sunday afternoon to watch the snow blow and drift.  We got about 8-10 inches at our house and I think people further inland got about 15-20 inches.  I see some snowmobilers have been out and I look at the trail conditions for Lutsen/Tofte but I am not sure they have been groomed yet.  Here is the link in case you think you may want to come up and ski!

Snow is Here! December 10, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — cascadevacationrentals @ 12:24 pm

OK-Scratch what I wrote below.  I just looked and saw a winter weather advisory that said we were going to get 6-10 inches of snow today!  That is a wee bit different that a couple inches!  That is much more exciting news!

We are so excited to finally see some snow.  I think we are going to get a couple inches today.  I am sitting in my office and it is finally feeling like a winter wonderland.  This is great news for winter enthusiasts and who doesn’t want a white christmas!-Kris

Where’s the Snow? December 3, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — cascadevacationrentals @ 2:43 pm

We received a sprinkling of snow over the Thanksgiving weekend.  There is only a little visible right now.  The weather people say we may get a little more this week.  To feel like you are really in the midst of winter you can drive up to the ski hill and feel like you are in a winter wonderland. I am sure the skiers feel a little odd going down the snowy slopes and seeing in the distance the rest of the terrain.  Here is the Lutsen Mountains snow report: http://www.lutsen.com/winter/snow_report/
